This module is all about geometry. There are 27 DVD lessons and 2 supplemental lessons (no video). It covers the measure and production of angles. We start with the measure of angles and the kinds of angles. We also cover the unique symbols used in geometry. Alternate interior, alternate exterior, corresponding, vertical, supplementary, and complementary angles are covered. Using these, we learn how to calculate the angles created by parallel lines cut by a transversal. We also learn how to calculate the sum of the angles of various polygons. Indirect measurement using corresponding angles and sides is taught. We learn the Pythagorean theorem and how to solve problems using it, including how to lay out stairs and rafters for building houses. We also cover the resolution of forces in a segment on mechanical advantage using leavers, winches, incline planes, chain hoists, and threaded rods.
