It follows "Integers and Order of Operations" and "Introduction to Algebra", and comes before "Algebra A ". In this module we take a good deal of time developing the rationale for working with word problems. There is a logic and procedure that must be developed before students can be successful in solving word problems. Once the strategy has been learned, we solve a number of story problems that deal with different numbers and their relationships to each other using ages, coins, etc. This module will instill confidence, and show how linear equations can be used to solve seemingly difficult problems with ease.
