My Son Is in the 8th Grade and Doesn't Know the Multiplication Facts; What Do I Do?

There may be several reasons for him not knowing his basic facts.  It could be his inability to memorize.  It could be that he fell farther and farther behind, and decided that failure at this level is better than continuing to fail farther along in math, so there is no real interest in his actually learning these facts now.  Paul ran across this with a student, and recommended that the parent go ahead and start him on Labeled Quantities to see if he would learn from listening to the DVDs.  The report came back from the mother that he was learning his facts as he did the rest of the material.

Does Your Program Work For Children With Learning Differences?

Do You Have A Geometry Course? 

We do not have a full geometry course, but we have two modules that would be helpful for anyone going into geometry.  These modules are "Shapes & Dimensions" and "What’s Your Angle?"

Is Your Program Compatible With Mac Computers? 

Yes.  All of the printed material comes in PDF format and should work on any computer that has Adobe Acrobat Reader installed.  If your computer doesn’t have the reader, you can download it from http://www.adobe.com/ or from our website.

Where Do I Start? 

If your student is 11 years old or older, you can look at the numbers of the modules and they should tell you what grade they are geared for.  For example: 6/1-6/4 are the modules that make up Level 6, 7/1-7/4 are Level 7, etc.  Your student may not be ready for the material at the higher grades because they might be missing the foundation laid in the earlier modules, which is not taught in most other curricula.  In this case, you can go to our website http://www.systemath.com/ and click on a module that you may be interested in.  You will see a link to the final test, as well as the answers for that test.  Print it and give your student the test to see if they already know the material.  From here, you can proceed to earlier or later modules to find the place that you will be able to start
